Mount Wellington Charitable Trust – 2026 Grants (Round One)
Mount Wellington Charitable Trust – 2026 Grants (Round One)
Mount Wellington Charitable Trust (MWCT) is delighted to announce the successful applicants to the first round of granting since the change in business direction undertaken by Mount Wellington Licensing Trust (MWLT) in 2025.
Last year, MWLT sold previous accommodation and hospitality businesses to become an investment-driven community funder.
The $720,000 just granted is over three times the highest amount previously given (from business returns) in a single year ($230,000 – 2019).
MWCT had two types of grant available – a General Grant, which is expected to have two rounds per year ongoing, and for this inaugural round MWCT also offered a one-off Legacy Grant to support high impact projects in the area. Both had $360,000 available.
99 applications were received, 19 for the Legacy Grant and 80 for the General Grant.
Of these, there are 6 successful Legacy Grants and 33 successful General Grants.
The next granting round will be open for applications through July/August, with outcomes known by the end of September.
